Painted parts should be considered as primed, in many cases in the right color, but topcoat is still recommended to achieve the best quality. Small scuffs and scratches may occur. The holes for the guide sleeves are "lined" with an insert that must not be removed. If original sachs steering sleeves are to be reused, these should be pressed in with pliers or equivalent before assembly, the aftermarket steering sleeves are a little more "generous" and can be mounted more easily if you squeeze them a little with pliers.
