Tomos

Tomos är a Slovenian moped manufacturer founded in 1954 in Koper. The company is also a subcontractor to the automotive industry, with branches in the Netherlands and the USA, and since 1998 has been part of the Hidria group. Tomos is an abbreviation for TOvarna MOtornih koles Sežana.

In the beginning, two modified Puch mopeds, Dakota and Florida, were produced under licence. The main difference, at least compared to the Swedish Puch mopeds, was the engine, which was air-cooled instead of liquid-cooled and had different clutch and flywheel gears.

Tomos is no longer in business and went bankrupt in early 2019.
