Husqvarna wins with Novolette
Husqvarna starts selling mopeds in Sweden in 1953, the first model is called Husqvarna
Novolette 3311 and is equipped with an engine from the German RMW (Rex Motoren Werke). The model was basically a bicycle with a pumping engine and petrol tank. As early as 1954, the Novolette underwent major changes, including the manufacture of the engine itself. The Novolette lasted until 1956 when it was replaced by new models.
In 1962 an agreement was made with Monark regarding the exchange of products, with this agreement the final assembly of complete mopeds was moved to Varberg and only engines continued to be produced.
The new engine
Husqvarna Flinta introduced in 1963 is thus never assembled in a pure Husqvarna moped. Husqvarna mopeds with Flinta engines are all assembled in Varberg by the MCB Group (Monark-Crescent companies)
