Paper gaskets are sometimes said to fit poorly from some manufacturers. That is often caused from the gasket have dried in storage. Moisten the gasket by soaking it in water and let it rest a few hours in a plastic bag before assembly. From Teknos reparation handbook for motorcycles, 1955.
