Assembly:
1. Starter drive: Clean the mounting surfaces, then screw the cable starter counterpart to the clutch or Variomat (secure the supplied flange nut with Loctite).
2. Pull starter: Simply attach the housing adapter using the motor screws. The round housing with the pull starter unit is then placed on top and secured with the supplied M5 x 45 mm screws. Finally, the engine screws are tightened.
Starting process:
1. Before starting, slowly pull the rope a few times so that the engine cranks over empty (must be done before each starting attempt).
2. Pull out the pull-start handle until it hooks and meets resistance. Then pull through in one sweep.
Warning:
When the pull starter is installed, the pedals become inaccessible (the pedal arms are on the pull starter housing). Therefore a footrest, a longer pedal shaft or a pedal shaft extension is required.
