Engine size
Do you have an engine that you are not sure how big its volume is? Is it 50, 60 or 70 cc?
Checking the volume of the engine is easy. Measure all dimensions in cm with as much accuracy as possible.
- Take off the cylinder head.
- Measure the diameter of the piston.
- Place the piston at the top. Note where it is in height.
- Place the piston at the bottom. Measure how far it moves.
- This measurement is called the stroke
Volume = diameter * diameter * 3.14 / 4 * stroke length.
As an example, we take an ordinary moped engine. The diameter could be 4.0 cm and the stroke 4.4 cm
The volume of that engine would then be = 4.0 * 4.0 * 3.14 / 4 * 4.4 = 49.9 cc
